Tamiya 1/16 RC Sherman Tank + Futaba Radio Lights Sound Here we have a Tamiya Radio Control Tank. No box or instructions, this needs a little tlc. It has Futaba 40mHz 4 channel transmitter and receiver. The receiver is loose inside the chassis and the aerial wire is not connected to the metal aerial behind the tank. I put a battery in and drove this tank around the lounge. It has working sounds (engine, firing noises, etc). It has working lights. The turret would turn in both directions, but a was a bit slow moving one way so this may need looking at. The motor was working to change the barrel elevation, but the barrel didn`t actually move so something is disconnected or broken here. The channels to move the turret/gun also seem to work the sounds and lights when you move the stick right to each edge – but I could not get all the features to work on all the channels. Right now the lights won`t turn on. Swap the turret control servos and the lights will turn on but the sounds stop working, so some adjustment is needed here on the control boxes (DMD + MF-02) and/or radio. This is offered as a project for spares or repair only, no guarantees. I have described what I found but these are complicated and there may be other faults. It looks great but has some cosmetic damage and wear and tear, the rear light housings are missing but the bulbs are there. Nice project for an experienced Tamiya RC scale modeller.
