This is a vintage Kyosho Optima MId Custom Special 1/10th scale 4wd off road buggy. This was raced with great success at club level in the late 1980’s , early 90s. Its the competition long wheelbase version. 4 wheel drive by toothed belt. Full set of 16 ball bearings. Front and rear differentials. The kit has a replacement body shell fitted which is attached with Velcro which is glued to the carbon chassis, this proved a quicker more reliable method of fitting the body shell than using the body clips when it was being raced. Kit wasn’t supplied with a motor but this buggy has been fitted with a Losi multi wind motor with replaceable brushes. Fitted with a now rare Futaba MC112B electronic speed controller. Futaba 2 channel radio gear is included, receiver and steering servo. Schumacher PC2 auto peak fast charger is included as well as 2 vintage 7.2v battery packs although I don’t know how good the battery packs will be any more. I will include any spares I have , most being new, which includes new carbon front and rear suspension mounts, new belt and gear covers, ball joints , swing shafts, new rear wishbones, 1 new front wishbone, spare wheels and tyres and replacement crystals for the radio gear. Comes with the original instruction book, which will be very useful when taking apart the buggy if required. The buggy has been in a box in the attic for at least 25 years, it could do with a clean and will need the shocks refilling with oil. I’m sure with a little tlc this would make a quick racing car even today.
